Whew..

The past week and a half has been FULL! Busy and fun, but full.
My dear friend had her baby girl last Tuesday in a delivery very much like I experienced with Charles- praise the Lord!

Last Wednesday my parents flew into Boston and spent two days there before taking a bus into New York City. We met them in midtown and from then until Tuesday night we had a great time stoop sitting, talking, eating, tromping around the city (I love tromping), taking in the views, looking at fish, and enjoying the time together. We went to the NY Aquarium at Coney Island, DUMBO, the promenade, and as a surprise to my parents we gave them tickets to a Broadway show- which they have never been to. While they were at the show Chris, Charles and I hung out in Central Park.

I'm so happy we could do that for them, they really loved it.

What else did we do?

My mom has some really good photos on her camera too, once I get them I will post a few of those as well. It was a really good time together- thanks Mom and Dad for the fun visit! Charles keeps asking 'where's Nana? Where's Papa?'

Philadelphia And Other Adventures

We went to Philadelphia two weeks ago for our Anniversary. It was a short trip but so nice to get away from the city (well, our city) for two days. We went there three years ago and took in all the historical stuff so this time we just wanted to chill. We walked South Street, hit up Reading Terminal Market (yum) and of course spent some time at a few parks.
One of the main reasons Chris wanted to go to Philly? Fogo De Chao. Honest. We first tasted the Brazilian goodness known as Fogo when we were in Minneapolis. Since then, Chris hasn't been able to get it off his mind! There are none in NY and the closest one is in.. you guess it.. Philly!

Bassett's Ice Cream in Reading market .. oh mercy. Best banana ice cream EVER.

I am beginning to see a trend to this post.. FOOD!

Before we left we also wanted to go to the two the famous Philly Cheese Steak competitors Pats and Genos and see which was better. They are located across the street from each other and they were both really crowded.

We got one from each and took them to Rittenhouse Square for a taste test. The verdict?? PATS by a landslide. Their roll was soft, the meat juicy and perfectly shredded and the cheese oozing. BUT to tell you the truth, Chris got a cheesesteak from Reading Market the day before and said that was the best.

Our hotel was right downtown so naturally we walked everywhere. This isn't a big deal being from New York but we didn't want Charles to spend the whole trip in his stroller so we went to some parks and let him get his wiggles out. He loved the fountain at Washington Square

He thought the big bed was pretty fun too

Before we left for home we stopped in the park (with our cheesesteaks) to allow Charles to move around so that hopefully he would sleep in the car. Move around he did! He started to crawl! He had been working on this since we were in Minnesota and it all came together while in Philly. It was so fun to see his little hands and legs work together to move himself from one side of the blanket to the other. Way to go Charles! He was sure pleased with himself. Now, there is no stopping him and he's started pulling himself up on furniture and trying to 'cruise'. He definitely wants to GO.
