Lawrence is so close to walking, he will take a couple steps when he lets go of our hand or furniture but then drops/squats down to crawl. He climbs on everything! but has at least now learned how to get back down by himself. He says 'mama', 'dada', and 'ball'. He loves peaches and does not like bananas.

Lawrence is 10 months old!

Well I missed posting his nine month photos so I got those up at the same time as I am posting his ten month photos, and he turns ELEVEN months tomorrow which means it's time to take some new pictures! Hopefully I'll get those up sooner but I can't promise anything. ha!
Lawrence is finally getting his 8th tooth, the fourth one on the bottom. It has taken a loooong time. He isn't walking yet but can stand by himself for a few seconds and has taken a couple steps. This summer he we have taken him to the pool and splash pad a few times and he seems to really like the water. The first time in the pool he fell asleep while I was holding him.

Lawrence is my climber. He tries, with success more and more, to climb onto (and out of) everything. He is much more daring than Charles was when it comes to that stuff and he gets into everything. He loves to swing at the park and follow Charles around. I pray that they will grow to be very close friends and watch out for each other.I can't believe how fast the time is going.. he will be a year old in just a few more weeks!

Lawrence is 8 months old

Lawrence has mastered crawling and has recently started pulling himself up on furniture. He has SEVEN teeth! Ever since getting the first bottom two while in New York they just keep coming! He has tried avocados, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas and applesauce. He did not like the peas. He says mama-mama-mama and other 'baby talk' but I especially love hearing him say 'mama' even though he may not realize what he is saying quite yet. Lawrence lights up whenever Charles come in the room.
You melt my heart again and again my little Lawrence. I love you.

Lawrence is SEVEN months old!
We went to Brooklyn a few weeks ago and I still haven't posted about our time there yet. I promise I will, but first I wanted to share Lawrence's seven month photos. He is so cute! Lawrence is sitting up well on his own and he rolls all over the place. He can pivot and scoot a little to help him get where he wants to go. He can get himself up on all fours and has started to rock back and forth- I am sure he will be crawling soon. He loves to babble and says 'bah bah bah' over and over- I love hearing his sweet voice.

Lawrence is SIX months old
I can't believe my baby is six months old already. He is laughing and rolling over and he's pretty steady sitting up on his own too. He loves watching Charles, touching faces, and sucking on his toes. And when he is happy or likes something he makes this gurggly purring noise. It's so cute!

Three Months
I took more than a hundred photos of Lawrence to get this (almost) smile.
Worth it.
Worth it.
Most of the time all I got was a disinterested stare or crying.
Oh yea, and the perfect smile, blurry :)
And for Rachel, and for those of you who know her, a turtle face!

Movember Moustaches and Morning Cafés
Auntie Rachel came to visit over Thanksgiving and brought these super cute bearded hats she made for Lawrence and Max. They are sooo cute!
This was Lawrence's first time meeting Auntie Rachel
I know I speak for Jess too when I say we are so happy our boys have Rachel for an 'Auntie' and that we miss her loads and loads. Ray and Jess took me out for a delicious birthday breakfast (and the best vanilla latte ever) at People's Organic Cafe that was so special to be the three of us together. Thank you friends. I wish we had gotten a picture! dang. I guess we'll just have to go again over Christmas. (right girls?)
While she was here we made a morning trip to Isles with Charles' other special 'Uncle' Ishabor for some puppy tails. YUM.

I love my friends and I love cafés and when the two come together it is truly a wonderful thing.

little things make the difference
Sometimes it's the little things. Like watching your little boy enjoy his first hot chocolate. With 'shem-shallows' of course (marshmallows).

A little sticker representing one vote out of millions. Did you get yours?

Making the most of our limited space and giving Lawrence his own little corner in our room. Little elephants, owls and prints make it a cozy place for our little mister.

I love every little thing about L, especially his little mohawk

more spray paint crafts
I had been trying to figure out what to do for Lawrence's monthly photos since before he was born. I took photos for Charles every month but hadn't done anything creative with them really except to hang them up at his first birthday. For Lawrence, I wanted to do something a little more creative and cohesive, and had seen some cute ideas on pinterest (of course). I really liked the idea of something that said how many months he was at the time of the photo so I decided on getting some kind of board or banner or something that would be in each photo. I found these two trays at a thrift store and decided to paint them with chalkboard paint. I really wanted something with a more ornate or scalloped shape but couldn't find what I wanted so I got two - one silver and one wood- to paint and then decide which to use for the photos. I figured I would find a use for the other one either way.
I taped off the rims with painters tape and then sprayed away. (it would have been easier to just get the brush on paint, but they didn't have it at Michaels)

I wasn't sure how the spray paint would turn out but it ended up great. Here are my two trays! As you saw in my last post, I used the silver tray in Lawrence's one month photos. As for the wooden tray it's going to be hung in our kitchen above our 'coffee station'. (pictures to come)
